You may be getting older, but that doesn’t mean you have run out of energy and ideas. And it is about time companies realised it.

Participation rates have risen faster than foreshadowed in the government’s Intergenerational Report. The Australian Bureau of Statistics data shows people 55 or older made up 16 per cent of the total workforce, up from 10 percent three decades earlier.
Yet, a report for the Financial Services Council found 28 per cent of older workers had experienced some form of discrimination. These actions included being made redundant before others, a lack of access to training and inflexible attitudes towards health requirements.
